Grethe Stanley
Grethe and her late husband Andrew lived and served in Eastern Europe from 2004 to 2012 where their main purpose was to bring reconciliation between the Christian Pastors and Leaders of the States of former Yugoslavia.
Before leaving Australia, Grethe had felt on her heart to start a conference for women in that region. When they arrived, they found that women were very oppressed and there was nothing in the churches specifically for women.
While God was using the Reconciliation Gathering powerfully to write a new chapter for His Church in the Balkans region, Grethe set about organising the first Daughters of the King conference in 2007 which became an annual event.
Daughters of the King had a profound impact amongst women in the Balkans over the ensuing years resulting in its expansion to include mini conferences in Macedonia, Bosnia, Herzegovina, Serbia, Croatia as well as annual events in Bulgaria and Myanmar.
Grethe authored her first book, Daughters of The King, A Whisper from Heaven’, telling the inspiring story of what God can accomplish through an ordinary person, without any qualifications, only a willingness to obey the leading of His Spirit.
Grethe now lives on the Sunshine Coast of Australia with her delightful cat, Buttercup. Together with Andrew, Grethe has five adult children, thirteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Grethe has a deep appreciation for love & life and is passionate about her family and her faith in Christ. She loves motivating women to realize their full potential and embrace their unique gifts. She firmly believes in the transformative power of the spoken Word, understanding that words can either foster positivity or contribute to negativity, depending on how they are used. This conviction drives her to inspire those around her, encouraging them to speak life and positivity into their lives and the lives of others.
Grethe keeps fit by walking and doing aqua aerobics. She likes fashion, good food, good wine, dark chocolate and meeting with friends.
Grethe lives by three quotes -
I can because HE (God) enables me
Just do it
Age is mind over matter, and if you don't mind then it doesn't matter
Grethe is a GoodLife Global Impact Partner and is actively engaged with missions despite being in her late 70s.
